Have you ever done an analysis on the performance of the top picks based on float? I think your website is great but when the market does turn around I can only invest in about five or six stocks at a time. So if there are more listed I have to find away to filter them further.
Thanks, A: Hi,
We haven't completely done an analysis on top picks performance vs. float, but we suspect there will be some correlation, i.e., stocks with smaller float will tend to move up more since it takes less buying power to push these stocks higher. We don't have a filter based solely on float, since we felt there are other drivers of stock price performance, e.g., EPS and sales growth, breakouts, etc., that we have included on the site. Even in strong markets, running the "GSA Recommended Search Criteria" as a filter, should narrow down your selections to a handful of names from which you can select the five or six stocks that have the best chart patterns and fundamental/technical criteria.
However, if you feel there is strong evidence to suggest that adding a float filter to our screening criteria will be beneficial, we will certainly look into it.
Best regards,
